About
Welcome to Vinoteca Pompette Restaurant, a hidden gem nestled at 597 College St in Toronto, Canada. Here, passion for food meets an unpretentious atmosphere, creating a dining experience that is both welcoming and memorable. With an extensive menu rooted in fresh ingredients and bold flavors, every dish tells a story waiting to be savored.
As a food reviewer at Foodjoyy, I was eager to explore the diversity Vinoteca Pompette offers. The cold starters truly stump conventional expectations. The Whipped Ricotta with Zaatar, paired with the Anchovy Sourdough Tartine, delivers a delightful blend of creaminess and texture for CA$12, setting the tone for an exceptional meal. For something bolder, the Wagyu Beef Tartare (CA$23) bursts with flavor, captivating the palate with its rich undertones of black garlic and quail egg yolk.
Moving onto the warm starters, the Mussels 'Nduja (CA$17) are a must-try. Cooked in a decadent butter sauce, they invite you to indulge with every bite, while the Octopus Barbecue presents a sophisticated dance of flavors highlighted by prosciutto XO sauce and caramelized yogurt for a price of CA$35.
The fish and meat selection is remarkable; the Whole Branzino, grilled to perfection with herring roe and chive beurre blanc (CA$45), impresses with its smoky essence, while the Whole Ontario Duck Breast (CA$55) paired with a date condiment offers a unique twist that resonates beautifully. For a special treat, indulge in the Dry Aged Ontario Ribeye (CA$120) that promises richness and tenderness.
Customer testimonials reflect the restaurant's commitment to excellence. Reviews celebrate the attentive service and the remarkable dishes, often describing experiences as unforgettable. One visitor noted that the Parpadelle al Ragu (Duck) was "flavourful," while another raved about the mussels being "plate-moppingly excellent." Each account showcases a commitment to high standards that make you eager to return.
Beyond just impeccable food, Vinoteca Pompette glows with warmth. The friendly staff create bonds with guests, ensuring attention to detail in both service and culinary suggestions. As one diner aptly stated, "Each dish focused on hero flavors," affirming that the restaurant maintains its identity through carefully chosen ingredients and expert preparations.

“ Service was amazing - friendly, warm, and attentive. Food was outstanding! Burger was one of the best I've had in years. Parpadelle al Ragu (Duck) was so flavourful and the Bone Marrow Beef Taratare was succulent. Will be back. Thank you! ”
“ We came here for brunch and had a great experience! Our server, Oleksandra, was incredibly kind and attentive — she gave us a lot of care and recommended some amazing dishes. My matcha latte was absolutely on point, and I also had the egg benedict brioche salmon toast — no regrets whatsoever. Highly recommend this place for brunch, 100%! ”
“ Outstanding food, service and venue. The staff at Vinoteca Pompette knocked it out of the park, in a very understated way. Congratulations. Mussels were plate-moppingly excellent, pastas were interesting, each with an interesting twist. A most excellent evening..... thank you ”
“ Pompette is one of the best restaurants in Canada and it’s for a good reason. The dishes were excellent and the service exceptional. The appetizers and Valentine’s Day beef short rib were all delicious, though the risotto was a bit of a let down as the ingredients didn’t blend well. Both of the deserts were also great being not too sweet. This is definitely a place you’ll want to checkout for a special occasion. ”
“ I had a phenomenal experience while visiting from New Zealand. Each dish focused on hero flavours - not trying to do too much or too little. I had the nduja mussles , cabbage, and ragu. Great wine pairings with each , attentive service, delicate flavours, and an easy atmosphere that allows you to enjoy the tastes without feeling like there will be a taste. Cocktails interesting and balanced without being overly complicated. 10/10 and will absolutely return when next in the country. Would suggest taking suggestions as all were solid wins. ”
“ Had the pleasure of celebrating my birthday here with my partner and friend. We ordered multiple dishes, including three different mains. The food was full of phenomenal flavours, extremely savoury. I wanted to note that the Parisian style gnocchi was delightful, so so delicious. Would love to return to try different foods and more cocktails! ”
“ Absolutely delicious! Every single bite was bursting with flavour and portions were very reasonable - we left feeling perfectly satisfied. While the venue might be on the smaller side, the atmosphere and booths felt spacious and intimate. The gnocchi alone is worth a return trip and they serve a solid negroni. Overall, great experience! ”
“ Solid place for a lovely date night. Cocktails were excellent and service top notch. Food came out promptly and was delicious. Definitely recommend the bone marrow tartare and white asparagus which was refreshing. Able to accommodate nut allergies very easily. Sour dough bread is also very legit. Atmosphere warm and inviting. Will be back! ”
